Welcome to MTExperiments. Our aim is to produce, reframe and redefine the genre of Musical Theatre.

We're a platform curating together performance and research that explores the diverse genre of Musical Theatre. We aim to challenge what musical performance can be with full scale reimagined & new productions to new innovative ways of accessing shows. We pose questions as to how we can do things differently. We bring artists together in ambitious, unique & random collaborations to make incredible musical experiences.

MTExperiments is based primarily between the East Midlands and London. Part of our vision is looking at how regional & community theatre can pioneer UK Musical Theatre in it's early stages. Our project, uprising, embodies this in a yearly celebration combining a community reframed musical with new work.

Following a year of development, July 2019 saw us launch a Musical Theatre Revolution: our commitment & years vision to support the development of Musical Theatre across the UK & produce reframed revivals & dynamic new productionsThe MTRevolution was launched alongside our first reframed revival: American Idiot, performed by a community company.

Our Upcoming Work includes uprising, ongoing development of new Musicals & we will soon be launching a cross Research/Performance Series queering Gender & Sexuality in Musical Theatre.
